Testing:

Industrial & Commercial

Portable Appliance Inspection and Testing or PAT Testing as it is sometimes referred to, is an important part of any Health & Safety Policy.

If your working environment has any electrical appliances with a plug attached, then these are classed as Portable Appliances.

To minimise the risk of a potential fire or the risk of an electric shock to either an employee or the general public, or for insurance purposes, it is vital to have these appliances safety tested to assure a safe working environment.

All testing is carried out under the IEE's Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and conforms to HSE guidelines.

Before any testing commences on an appliance, our engineer will assess the workplace environment to make sure testing can be carried out safely and with no risk to either themselves or people working nearby.

How are results communicated back ?
A detailed Portable Appliance Testing report will be presented to your company on completion of testing.

If your organisation consists of many sites over various locations, then each site will be presented with an individual report.

Our reports are well presented and easy to understand. The report will provide detailed information on each appliance in each department.

Reports can be presented on disc format for easier storage (i.e. Microsoft Excel).

Our report system will also act as an asset register to help keep track of all electrical appliances in your company.

Each appliance that passes inspection & testing will receive a safety sticker or bar code label, showing all visitors and employees your have fulfilled your obligation to Health & Safety issues.

An Appliance ID Code is printed on the sticker for easier identification and this refers to the same Appliance ID Code in the report.

A failed appliance will be labeled with a red sticker and removed from service if an immediate repair is not possible during testing.

Professional advice is given to your company employees during testing, regarding the safe use of portable appliances in the correct environments.

This helps to stop recurring failures and extends asset life.

Our aftercare service is provided to ensure clients are happy with the service they have received and to ensure that all portable appliance testing has been covered.
